Marriott International has as of now announced plans to bring its recently-acquired City Express brand to the USA and Canada. The group has agreed to a $100 million deal with Mexican company Hotels City Express. This has been done to acquire the City Express portfolio in 2022. Plus, last year it integrated into the brand into Marriott Bonvoy.

The Marriott hotel chain began when the Hot Shoppes, Inc. restaurant company decided to then, diversify into hotels. Its first hotel opened in 1957 in Virginia.
